Are you looking for a company that is hiring immediately? Ascend is hiring for a Day Shift Mill Production worker that will lead into a Production Supervisor.

We are seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our mill team in a production role with a clear opportunity to grow into a supervisor position. This is a hands-on position designed for someone who wants to advance into leadership, overseeing production, scheduling, and yard operations.

Shift Information

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM

• Monday Friday

Start in Production Core Responsibilities

• You will begin on the production floor learning all aspects of mill operations:

• Operate and maintain machinery and production line equipment

• Feed raw materials into machines to support continuous production

• Monitor equipment and troubleshoot minor operational issues

• Perform basic quality control checks to ensure product standards are met

• Assemble, package, and label finished products as needed

• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment and work areas

• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE

• Track production output and complete simple production reports

• Assist team members to meet daily production goals

• Load and unload materials and finished products as needed

Growth Into Supervisor Responsibilities

• With strong performance, reliability, and leadership ability, you will advance into supervisory duties such as:

• Operating forklifts up to 8,000 LBS

• Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently

• Coordinating daily production flow and assigning tasks

• Assisting with scheduling and shift organization

• Supporting inventory tracking and material movement throughout the mill

• Ensuring safety compliance and production targets are met

• Communicating production updates and workforce needs to management

• Leading and supporting team members on shift

Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

• Minimum 12 consecutive years of experience in a lead, team lead, or supervisory role (manufacturing, mill, warehouse, or industrial setting)

• Proven heavy forklift experience up to 5,00010,000 LBS (loading/unloading trucks, staging materials, handling large or bulky mill products)

• Ability and willingness to start in production and work up into a supervisor role through demonstrated performance

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and support team members on shift

• Basic computer skills (data entry, production reporting, email, and simple tracking systems)

• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and PPE compliance

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding mill environment

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating or assisting with scheduling, production flow, or shift organization

• Familiarity with inventory tracking, material handling systems, or production reporting

• Experience training or mentoring employees on equipment or processes

• Strong communication skills (able to give clear direction and report updates to management)

• Problem-solving mindset with ability to address minor production or equipment issues

• Support production goals and daily output targets

• Assist with organizing workflow, staffing, and material movement

• Communicate clearly with management regarding production status and needs
