Credit Risk Analyst

Whitecap Search is seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Credit Risk Analysis. This role involves analyzing and recommending counterparty credit exposures proposed by our business units in the Americas. The successful candidate will be part of a Diversified Corporate team and may also contribute to other projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing Diversified Corporate files and assisting with other projects as needed.
• Review credit requests generated by the Front Office for completeness, interfacing with originators to obtain necessary documents, cash flow projections, industry data, or other information for thorough risk understanding.
• Write comprehensive credit analyses, evaluating balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, projections, transaction structures, exposure sizes, and risks and mitigants in proposals.
• Review and recommend credit ratings using the internal rating model.
• Work with the supervising Sector Head to determine a final recommendation for presentation to Senior Management and the Credit Committee.
• Manage file completion under the supervision of the Sector Head to meet deadlines.
• Verify data inputs, including risk ratings and profitability assumptions, within several databases and work with commercial units to resolve any issues.
• Handle various ad hoc portfolio or counterparty research requests.

Requirements

• Strong credit skills.
• Experience in balance sheet and income statement analysis.
• Understanding of cash flow and projection models.
• Understanding of risk exposure and size.
