Director of Manufacturing

Director of Manufacturing LSINC is looking for a highly organized, hands‑on leader who can coordinate people, materials, engineering information, schedules, and priorities to ensure equipment is built, tested, and delivered according to customer commitments. We are not looking for a particular degree, number of years, or previous job title. We are looking for someone who can take ownership, create structure, lead people, solve problems, and get things done. The right person may already be leading a manufacturing organization, or this may be an opportunity for a high‑performing manufacturing, engineering, production, or operations professional who is ready for greater responsibility. The position includes responsibility for: Leading the day‑to‑day execution of LSINC’s manufacturing and assembly operations. Owning and maintaining the production schedule. Establishing clear daily and weekly priorities for the manufacturing team. Maintaining accurate visibility into the status of every machine in production. Coordinating personnel, materials, equipment, and information required to keep production moving. Identifying material shortages, engineering issues, quality concerns, resource constraints, and schedule risks early and driving them to resolution. Leading manufacturing personnel and establishing clear expectations for performance, accountability, quality, and follow‑through. Coordinating closely with Engineering to ensure drawings, BOMs, work instructions, engineering changes, and other technical information are available when manufacturing needs them. Working with Procurement and Inventory to ensure materials and components are available to support the production schedule. Partnering with Quality to ensure equipment meets LSINC requirements before shipment. Improving manufacturing processes, workflow, documentation, organization, efficiency, and repeatability. Supporting effective use of LSINC’s ERP/MRP system. Developing meaningful manufacturing metrics and using them to identify problems and improve performance. Building depth within the manufacturing team through training, cross‑training, and development. Communicating production status, risks, resource needs, and corrective actions clearly to executive leadership. Taking ownership of problems through resolution rather than simply identifying or escalating them. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, engineering, operations, production planning, machine assembly, or another relevant technical environment. Experience with complex equipment, machinery, automation, or engineered products is preferred. Strong organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple builds, priorities, deadlines, and issues simultaneously. The candidate should be comfortable working with BOMs, drawings, work instructions, production schedules, and technical documentation. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is helpful, but specific system experience is not required. We are less concerned with credentials than capability. The right person will be highly organized, accountable, hands‑on, proactive, technically capable, decisive, collaborative, process‑oriented without being bureaucratic, willing to learn, and driven to finish. Success in this position means: We know the accurate status of every machine in production. Manufacturing priorities are clear. Team members know what they are responsible for and when it needs to be completed. Material, engineering, and quality issues are identified early and actively managed. Production schedules are realistic, visible, and continuously maintained. Risks to customer commitments are communicated before they become surprises. Manufacturing processes become increasingly documented, organized, repeatable, and scalable. Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Inventory, and Service work together as one coordinated delivery organization. Problems are owned and resolved. Equipment is built correctly and delivered when promised. LSINC designs and manufactures advanced printing and industrial equipment in Huntsville, Alabama.
