The Banking and Cash Management Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accurate and timely reconciliation of stores cash, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, as well as preparing and maintaining seasonal budgets and monthly forecasting. Reporting to the Manager of Banking & Cash Management, this role combines operational excellence with strategic initiatives to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely recording of stores' cash activity from Point of Sale (POS) and the bank to be in compliance with SOX Controls and Internal Operational Controls for (1) general ledger accuracy (2) P&L accuracy and (3) reporting accuracy
• Ensure that all month-end accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare seasonal budgets, monthly forecasting, and variance analysis for stores over/short, counterfeit, theft and bank fee expenses
• Prepare monthly reporting for internal stakeholders and present in monthly Blackbook meetings
• Partner with stores operations and technology on routine point of sale releases, supporting defect prioritization, testing, and post go-live support and monitoring
• Identify irregularities and variances against audit and control criteria for store cash overages/shortages and deposit adjustments
• Independently and proactively resolve discrepancies using financial analytics and related techniques
• Follow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basis while providing excellent customer service and maintaining vendor relations
• Ensure timely and accurately filing of business licenses for retail stores across multiple jurisdictions, maintaining regulatory compliance and uninterrupted business operations
• Assist with internal customer requests, supplier inquiries, and internal/external audit questions
• Identify areas of opportunity and recommend solutions for achieving optimal efficiency and effectiveness
• Assist with special projects, departmental goals, and ad-hoc analysis

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years accounting or related experience
• Experience in journal entry preparation, auditing, and balance sheet reconciliation preferred
• SAP experience beneficial
• Intermediate/Sophisticated PC Skills - Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Strong reconciliation and critical thinking skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
