Role Description The Content Manager will oversee the planning, creation, and publishing of content across Honest History’s print magazines, podcasts, and digital channels, including blog and social media. This full-time, hybrid role is based near LAX, with a mix of in-office collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing editorial calendars, coordinating writers, editors, and designers, and ensuring all content aligns with Honest History’s educational mission and brand voice. The Content Manager will review and edit copy, optimize content for audience engagement, and collaborate with leadership to develop content strategies that support growth. The role also involves tracking performance metrics, implementing feedback, and maintaining consistent quality and accuracy in all storytelling. Qualifications Must have strong copywriting skills, with design skills a huge plus (Adobe, Canva, et al) Must have an unmatched attention to detail Must have a stellar ability for storytelling and brand Demonstrated experience in content management, including planning editorial calendars and overseeing multi-channel content production. Strong skills in writing, editing, and proofreading, with the ability to adapt tone and style for children’s educational media. Background in storytelling, journalism, publishing, or education, preferably with experience creating content for children or families. Ability to collaborate effectively with creative teams, manage contributors, and coordinate workflows in a hybrid work environment. Comfort using content management systems, project management tools, and basic analytics platforms to track and improve performance. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Education, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Interest in history, culture, and global stories, with a commitment to accurate, inclusive, and engaging content for young audiences. Compensation & Benefits The estimated hourly pay range for this role is $26.00 – $29.00 per hour. Employment Status Notice This is a full-time, non-exempt position . Under California law, non-exempt employees are paid an hourly rate and are eligible for overtime compensation (paid at 1.5x the regular rate of pay) for all hours worked over 8 hours in a single workday or over 40 hours in a single workweek. #J-18808-Ljbffr Nashville Public Radio
