\n We are currently looking for a Post Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Surgical Unit team. This position is a Full-Time Night (3-12s) position. \n
\n
\n Under the direction of the Post-Surgical Unit/ED/Float Pool Clinical Supervisor, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical and telemetry patients to ensure that patient care services are delivered in accordance with the hospital's mission, vision, and goals. The RN is responsible for performing the nursing process in a manner that ensures high-quality and safe, patient-focused care. This role involves interfacing with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care and respond effectively to patient needs. The RN is responsible for upholding professional standards and compliance with regulatory guidelines, including those set by the state board of nursing, American Nurses Association, and The Joint Commission. \n

\n The Post Surgical Unit Registered Nurse (RN) will support our team by being responsible for the following: \n
\n

\n
• Provide direct patient care within the RN scope of practice, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
\n
• Implement physician orders, administer and document medications safely, and provide nursing interventions as necessary, in accordance with standards of practice.
\n
• Perform accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record to reflect the patient's condition and treatment and correct patient admit/discharge/transfer status.
\n
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
\n
• Provide education to patients and their families about care and expectations.
\n
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, and National Patient Safety Goals.
\n
• Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions with staff, patients, and families.
\n
• Utilizes email and computer systems (including EHR) to manage staff communication, coordinate patient care, document performance, and ensure patient workflow.
\n
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
\n
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills \n
Education: \n
\n

\n
• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
\n

\n
Licensure/Certification: \n
\n

\n
• Current Texas RN License.
\n
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited by American Heart Association (AHA).
\n
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification accredited by AHA (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).
\n

Specific Job Experience \n
\n

\n
• Two years of RN experience in Med-Surg/Telemetry, or one year Critical Care/Emergency/PACU required. Post-surgical experience in orthopedics or spine highly preferred.
