Exciting Opportunity for a Cardiac Internist

Our organization is seeking a dedicated Cardiac Internist to become a part of our Cardiology department. This role primarily involves providing support within the clinic to facilitate access and follow-up appointments for patients.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Join a thriving team of 10 physicians, 10 fellows, and 7 nurse practitioners.
  • Engage in a practice that encompasses inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services.
  • Your schedule will consist of three weeks per month in the Heart Center clinic and one week on the hospital's CV Telemetry floor alongside the Cardiology team.
  • The MercyOne Heart Center delivers a comprehensive array of cardiology services, including non-invasive, invasive, interventional, and electrophysiology, collaborating closely with cardiac and vascular surgery services.
  • Train with our Cardiology fellowship program, which includes three residents annually and an interventional Cardiology Fellowship that accepts one fellow each year. Cardiac Internists are encouraged to apply for the fellowship.
  • Explore outreach opportunities at one of our 10 critical access hospitals within our 14-county network.
  • Our primary service area serves approximately 260,000 residents.
  • Located at a 342-bed regional referral teaching hospital.
  • Recognized as a Level III Trauma Center, featuring a 24/7 staffed emergency department, hospitalist services, helicopter access, and advanced cath labs.

Position Details
  • Base Salary: $300,000 per year
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Includes paid malpractice insurance and tail coverage.

Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school.
  • Completion of a relevant residency program demonstrating competency as a physician; board certification or eligibility is required.
  • Ability to obtain medical staff privileges at our facility.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a physician license in the State of Iowa, along with an Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and a Federal DEA Certificate.
