Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Power Systems Engineering\n3+ years of systems and application development, configuration, implementation, and support experience\n3+ years of experience with power systems applications within power generation or distribution\n3+ years of SCADA/EMS/GMS experience (ABB Ranger/Network Manager, OSI Monarch, or similar)\nExperience with systems integrations, interfaces, and process flows\nStrong understanding of SDLC and project management methodologies\nExperience supporting and maintaining business-critical applications in cloud and data center environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Master's degree\nDeep technical expertise in configuring and maintaining complex systems and applications\nExperience with communication protocols including OPC, DNP3, Modbus, and REST APIs\nBasic networking knowledge including IP routing, DNS, and renewable energy, or power market operations experience\nStrong project management background

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Power Systems Engineer for a leading renewable energy client. This individual will join the Operations IT team and play a critical role in designing, implementing, supporting, and enhancing operational technology systems that support power generation, dispatch, and energy market operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SCADA, EMS, and GMS platforms, strong systems integration expertise, and a solid understanding of utility or power generation environments. This person will partner closely with business stakeholders, operators, and technical teams to improve operational efficiency, maintain mission-critical systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across a growing renewable energy organization.
