Senior Back End Developer

Senior Backend / API Developer (Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL)Immediate need for a talented Senior Backend / API Developer. This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in U.S (Remote).Key Responsibilities:Design and develop backend systems using Node.js and TypeScriptBuild and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs (server-side development required)Develop middleware to manage communication between applications and devices / networked systemsWork on real-time and event-driven systems, ensuring efficient data flow and performanceOptimize backend services for low latency and high reliabilityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define system behavior from UI to device-level interactionsContribute to scalable architecture and reusable platform designKey Requirements and Technology Experience:Key skills: Nodejs, API, Typescript, GraphQL, system design, IoT/device communication exp, Low-latency, distributed system, performance optimization, real-time data handling.Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript (backend development)Proven experience building GraphQL APIs (server-side, schema design, resolvers)Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event loop, and system fundamentalsExperience designing and implementing REST APIsExperience with distributed systems or event-driven architecturesAbility to explain and demonstrate real project work (no generic or template-based experience)Experience working with real-time systems or performance-critical applicationsExposure to device communication, IoT, or networking systemsExperience with C++ or embedded systemsFamiliarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred)Basic frontend exposure (Angular/React) is a plus, but not requiredImportant Notes:This role requires hands-on backend engineers, not UI-focused developersCandidates must be able to clearly explain their project experience and technical decisionsExperience limited to consuming APIs (without building them) will not be sufficient
