Pathologist Assistant

The ASCP Certified Sr Pathology Assistant will support the pathologist by performing macroscopic examination and dissection of surgical tissue specimens and conducting human postmortem examinations to ensure accurate diagnostic data collection.
Responsibilities
- Assist pathologists with intraoperative consultations; rapidly select, cut, stain, and mount tissue sections for immediate microscopic analysis
- Independently perform macroscopic examination, dictation, and dissection (grossing) of all tissue specimens, with an emphasis on high-complexity oncology resection
- Direct the identification, collection, and preservation of tissue samples for tumor banking, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular/genetic testin
Requirements

- GEDSuccessful completion of course requirements from an accredited school (ASCP) certificat
