Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) seeks to hire a full-time, Rehabilitation Assistant at a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center in Manhattan's Upper East Side. This facility offers the highest standards of comprehensive cancer care in an environment designed to meet the unique needs of patients with cancer and their families.

The Rehabilitation Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center provides physiatry, occupational therapy, and physical therapy to both inpatients and outpatients. We are looking for a unique individual to join our dynamic team of Rehabilitation Assistants. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational or Physical Therapist,

Role Overview:

• Perform specific technical activities essential to patient mobilization
  
• Work with other Rehabilitation Assistants within the service and assist in patient care
  
• Take on various housekeeping, clerical, and maintenance tasks critical to smooth operations of the rehabilitation service
  
• Escort and assist patients before, during, and after Occupational/Physical Therapy treatment sessions
  
• Maintain an adequate level of supplies to meet patient care needs
  
• Maintain records per Rehabilitation Service guidelines
  
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and contribute to the upkeep of the service work area
  
• Provide minor maintenance of rehabilitation equipment, monitor equipment for signs of wear and tear, and manage durable medical equipment levels
  
• Operate rehabilitation equipment, obtain vital signs, and transfer and guard patients under therapist supervision
  

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma/GED
  
• One year experience in direct care responsibility in an acute hospital setting, rehabilitation facility, or nursing home preferred
  
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills
  
• Mechanically oriented approach
  
• Team-oriented
  
• Ability to provide a 1-2 year dedication
  

Additional Information:

• Hours vary between 7:00a-6:30p, including weekends (subject to change)

Pay Range: $22.87 - $29.38
