Role Overview Systems Specialists participate in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment on construction sites. They verify system databases and programming, ensure consistency with the scope of work, and represent Siemens in regular customer interactions, helping customers save energy and money for a sustainable future. Key Responsibilities Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines, documenting commissioning details and communicating deficiencies and progress. Plan work with Lead Technician and Team Leader. Assist with data backup from data servers and the creation of automated backup procedures; support troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in system functions or sequence of operations; assist setup and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces. Confirm proper network performance. Run routine reports to review system operation, participate in final inspection and testing, support customer acceptance, and assist with customer training on system operations. Complete and submit routine written reports and provide plans and control system documents to engineering for as‑built drawings. Support project site communication and coordination, including scheduling of trade contractors for startup services; submit accurate time and expense reports. Work overtime when needed. A compressed schedule may require extended hours to meet commitments. Work rotational on‑call and/or minimal overnight travel. Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures; work in a team environment providing dedicated support to customers. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 1+ years of experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment. Electro‑mechanical experience (previous role or education) and proficiency with PC/software. On‑the‑job experience reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents. Ability and willingness to work in diverse environments, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment, ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, and above ceilings. Willingness to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, tablet, and to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Willingness to work overtime as needed. Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; meet eligibility requirements for Siemens’ fleet vehicle program. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
