Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Services Registered Nurse to join our Patient Care Services team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of epic experience and will be responsible for caring for pediatric and adult patients presenting with various illnesses, injuries, or trauma. This role requires critical clinical decision-making skills in assessing, intervening, and stabilizing patients in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant field
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school with valid New Hampshire licensure
• Trauma Nurse Certification Course within 1 year
• Previous charge experience is required
• Travel experience is mandatory

Unit Details

The Emergency Services unit handles all patient age groups and features 31 rooms equipped with PYXIS, EPIC, and follows the SBAR communication method. Nurses will engage in a wide range of specialized procedures and will successfully complete a competency-based orientation to become proficient in serving the Emergency Services patient population.

Work Environment

• Daily patient ratios: 4 patients
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend required
• Floating to ICU and ED as needed
• Interdisciplinary support available from phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy teams

COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination Policy

COVID-19 vaccination is required, with exceptions for medical or religious reasons only. Flu vaccination is also mandatory under the same conditions.

Additional Information

The Emergency Services Registered Nurse will be expected to assist in various situations, including but not limited to:

• Intubation management
• Blood product administration
• Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) care
• Management of drug overdoses and emergency medications
• General emergency department duties for combined adult and pediatric patients
• Phlebotomy and respiratory infection care
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Triage responsibilities
