Positive Options is the behavioral health division of Community Options, Inc. Positive Options is seeking a  Registered Behavior Technician in  Cookeville, TN . Registered behavior technicians work in homes, schools, and community settings with children, adolescents, and adults, using best practices to teach the critical skills needed for each individual to live a meaningful and independent life. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing individualized behavior interventions in multiple settings. If you are passionate about helping others and looking for a rewarding career, Positive Options provides all required training needed to become an RBT for those new to the field. $20-$23/ per hour based on experience Responsibilities

• Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through evidence based and data driven methodologies that include trauma informed care and positive behavior supports
• Model and implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan that assist the participant with acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing the behavioral, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to function successfully in the home and the community
• Provide timely and structured written feedback to the clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies
• Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with the participant’s support network regarding the recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan
• Collect data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization
• Prepare progress reports for the participant’s team as needed
• Provide a safe and supportive environment
• Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports
• Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants receiving supports
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
• Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data
• Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
