POSITION SUMMARY
The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for the setup, maintenance, breakdown, and transition of event spaces for Club functions, weddings, tournaments, Member events, private parties, meetings, holiday celebrations, receptions, and other special events at Hideaway Golf Club. This full-time seasonal position plays an essential role in ensuring event spaces are properly arranged, clean, organized, safe, and presentation-ready in accordance with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event diagrams, timelines, and Club standards. The Banquet Houseperson sets up and moves tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, audiovisual equipment, service stations, beverage stations, and other event furnishings and equipment; supports room transitions and event turnovers; maintains banquet and storage areas; and completes post-event breakdown and reset. This position works closely with the Director of Events, Banquet Servers, Bussers, Bartenders, Culinary Team Members, and other Food & Beverage Team Members to ensure event spaces are prepared accurately and on time. The Banquet Houseperson must demonstrate strong attention to detail, organization, teamwork, a sense of urgency, and the ability to safely perform physically demanding work while maintaining the high standards associated with a premier private club environment. While primarily assigned to Banquet and Special Event operations, the Banquet Houseperson may periodically be assigned to assist restaurant and other Food & Beverage operations based on Club business and operational needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Banquet and Events Team in the setup, execution, breakdown, and transition of Club functions, weddings, tournaments, Member events, private parties, meetings, holiday celebrations, receptions, and other special events. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event diagrams, floor plans, function sheets, timelines, and setup instructions to understand room configurations, equipment requirements, event timing, and special requests. Participate in pre-event meetings and briefings as directed to understand event requirements, assignments, priorities, and timelines. Set up banquet rooms, meeting spaces, outdoor event locations, tournament venues, private event areas, and other Club spaces according to event specifications. Arrange and position tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, podiums, audiovisual equipment, service stations, beverage stations, buffet tables, registration tables, displays, signage, and other event furnishings and equipment. Ensure room setups accurately reflect approved event diagrams, BEOs, floor plans, and event specifications. Measure and maintain appropriate spacing, alignment, accessibility, and presentation of tables, chairs, aisles, service areas, and other event components. Inspect completed room setups to ensure event spaces are clean, organized, safe, properly arranged, and presentation-ready prior to Member and Guest arrival. Make adjustments to room setups promptly when directed by Events or Food & Beverage leadership. Maintain awareness of event timelines and ensure assigned setup and breakdown responsibilities are completed within required timeframes. Assist with setting tables, placing linens, and preparing service stations and other event areas as directed. Transport tables, chairs, linens, staging, equipment, supplies, and other event materials safely between storage areas and event locations. Safely operate carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment used to transport event furnishings and supplies. Assist with the setup and breakdown of outdoor events, including transporting and positioning event equipment and supplies throughout Club grounds. Support Banquet Servers, Bussers, Bartenders, Culinary Team Members, and other event staff during functions as operational needs require. Monitor event spaces, public areas, and back-of-house banquet areas throughout functions and address setup, equipment, cleanliness, or safety needs as directed. Respond promptly to requests for additional tables, chairs, equipment, supplies, or room configuration changes during events. Assist with room transitions and event turnovers, including changing room configurations between meetings, meal periods, receptions, ceremonies, and other functions. Complete room flips efficiently and accurately within established event timelines. Break down event spaces following functions, including removing tables, chairs, linens, staging, equipment, service stations, signage, and other event materials. Return furnishings, equipment, supplies, and event materials to designated storage locations following each function. Organize and maintain banquet storage rooms, equipment areas, staging areas, and other assigned workspaces. Ensure tables, chairs, carts, equipment, and other banquet items are stored safely, securely, and in designated locations. Inspect banquet furniture and equipment for damage, wear, cleanliness, and proper operation and promptly report concerns to leadership. Maintain banquet equipment, storage areas, event spaces, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Assist with cleaning event areas before, during, and after functions, including removing trash, debris, empty containers, and other materials as needed. Follow proper procedures for handling and storing linens, event furnishings, equipment, and supplies. Maintain clear aisles, walkways, exits, service corridors, and work areas to support safe event operations. Follow safe lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and material-handling practices. Immediately report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, spills, hazards, or other safety concerns. Support a safe working environment and follow all Club safety policies and procedures. Report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, and prepared to perform assigned duties. Communicate effectively with leadership and fellow Team Members regarding setup status, event changes, equipment needs, and operational concerns. Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy, safety, and professionalism. Remain flexible regarding work assignments, event locations, schedules, room configurations, and changing operational needs. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities. The Banquet Houseperson has primary responsibility for supporting the physical preparation and turnover of banquet and event spaces. Responsibilities include: Review BEOs, event diagrams, floor plans, and setup instructions before beginning assigned room setups. Confirm required quantities and placement of tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, podiums, service stations, beverage stations, audiovisual equipment, and other event furnishings. Set rooms according to specified configurations, including rounds, classroom, theater, conference, reception, banquet, ceremony, and other arrangements. Maintain consistent spacing, alignment, presentation, and organization throughout event spaces. Complete setup assignments within established deadlines to allow adequate time for final inspections and other event preparations. Coordinate with Events, Banquet, Culinary, and Food & Beverage Team Members when room configurations or event requirements change. Respond efficiently to last-minute changes while maintaining safety and presentation standards. Complete room transitions between event segments or consecutive functions within required timelines. Break down event spaces promptly following functions and prepare rooms for subsequent Club activities. Return all equipment and supplies to designated storage areas and maintain orderly storage practices. Protect Club furnishings, walls, floors, doors, and equipment while moving and positioning event materials.RESTAURANT & FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPPORT
Banquet Housepersons are primarily assigned to Club functions, banquets, weddings, tournaments, private events, and other special events. Based on business levels and operational needs, Banquet Housepersons may periodically be assigned to support restaurant or other Food & Beverage operations. When assigned to restaurant or Food & Beverage support, Banquet Housepersons may: Assist with moving, arranging, and resetting tables, chairs, furniture, service stations, and other equipment. Assist with restaurant or patio setup and breakdown. Transport equipment, supplies, linens, glassware, serviceware, and other materials between storage and service areas. Assist with special dining setups, Member functions, and restaurant events. Support Servers, Bussers, Bartenders, Food Runners, and other Food & Beverage Team Members with non-service operational needs as directed. Assist with maintaining storage areas, service corridors, and back-of-house areas in a clean and organized condition. Assist with closing, breakdown, and reset activities as assigned. Maintain the same standards of professionalism, Member service, safety, and attention to detail expected during banquet and special event assignments. Remain flexible in assigned duties and work areas based on the overall needs of the Food & Beverage operation.MEMBER SERVICE AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Ability to work flexible and varying schedules based on the Club's event calendar, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Ability to work shifts that may vary in start time, end time, and duration depending on event requirements. Pushing and pulling carts, dollies, tables, chairs, equipment, beverage stations, service stations, and other banquet furnishings and supplies throughout Club facilities and event locations. Moving heavier, oversized, or awkward event furnishings and equipment using appropriate carts, dollies, material-handling equipment, and/or team assistance. Reaching above shoulder and overhead to position, retrieve, store, or remove event equipment, supplies, signage, linens, and other materials. Reading BEOs, event diagrams, floor plans, function sheets, setup instructions, signage, and other operational information requiring close and distance vision. Identifying proper table and chair placement, spacing, alignment, equipment positioning, room configurations, and potential safety hazards requiring depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Moving repeatedly between banquet rooms, storage areas, loading areas, service corridors, outdoor event locations, and other Club facilities while transporting equipment and supplies. Working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions associated with Club operations and special events. Maintaining visual and auditory awareness of Members, Guests, fellow Team Members, moving equipment, surrounding activity, and potential safety hazards while performing physically demanding work in active event environments.
