Travel RN – Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) | Night Shift

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Full-Time | Onsite | Projected Start: September 21, 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Surgical Trauma ICU at a Magnet-designated, ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center with a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Perform and assist with advanced procedures including intubation, extubation, chest tube placement, central line and A-line placement, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, proning, TPA administration, trach placement, EVD/bolt placement, and CRRT/HD
  • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including EVDs, Camino/bolts, GE Carescape bedside monitors, GE ventilators, Prisma Max CRRT, Zoll, Bair Hugger, iCool machines, Blanketrol blankets, Baxter IV pumps, Alaris PCA pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
  • Document all patient care accurately using Cerner PowerChart
  • Adhere to scheduling requirements including a minimum of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule cycle
  • Float as needed to other ICU units (MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU) or Step Down as per floating policy; travelers float before core staff

Required Qualifications

  • Active, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care ICU experience (LTAC experience not accepted)
  • Trauma ICU experience at a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
  • Surgical ICU experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player with a positive attitude and flexible approach to unit needs
  • Experience with CRRT, EVD/bolt management, and hypertonic medication administration
  • Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart documentation system
