About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 - 2 years License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills Description: Orientation is bi-weekly. Facility has 294 beds and is Joint Commission accredited. The unit provides cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services. The position involves working with a diverse adult and geriatric patient population. The typical patient ratios are 5:1 or 6:1. Equipment used includes Welch Allyn vital signs machines, Hoyer lifts, and Abbott glucometers. Experience with Meditech EMR is preferred. Candidates should be team-oriented and flexible. Preferred skills include managing discharges and admissions, and knowledge of basic cardiac drips. Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, acute respiratory failure, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and post-cardiac catheterization care.
