Children’s Ministry Director

The Children’s Ministry Director provides leadership, vision, and oversight for the spiritual growth, care, and development of children and families at Rocky Creek Church. This role combines strong administrative leadership with creativity, energy, and a deep passion for helping children and families know and follow Jesus.

The Children’s Ministry Director creates engaging, safe, and Christ-centered environments where children can grow in their faith while equipping volunteers and partnering with families to support discipleship at home. Through thoughtful planning, effective organization, and a heart for ministry, this leader helps build a thriving children’s ministry that aligns with Rocky Creek’s mission to make disciples who take personal responsibility for Kingdom activity.

The ideal candidate is a faith-driven leader who feels called to children’s ministry, loves investing in the lives of children and families, and brings enthusiasm, creativity, and joy to every aspect of the role. With strong administrative skills and a commitment to excellence, the Children’s Ministry Director develops systems, leads teams, and creates meaningful experiences that allow children to discover God’s love and grow as lifelong followers of Christ.

Title: Children’s Ministry Director
Supervisor: Student Pastor
Status: Part-Time/Full-Time

Purpose
The Children’s Ministry Director leads efforts to disciple children and support families through
gospel-centered teaching and environments. They provide leadership for grades 1–5, equip parents, and
develop volunteer teams to ensure every child experiences the love and truth of Jesus in a safe and
engaging setting.

Children’s Ministry Leadership
The Children’s Director provides direction and oversight for all children’s ministry environments from 1st
through 5th grade.
● Creates safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate spaces for kids to learn and grow.
● Ensures biblical teaching is clear, engaging, and rooted in the gospel.
● Plans children’s programming and events that support discipleship, community, and family
involvement.
● Helps children take the next steps in understanding and following Jesus.

Parent Partnership
The Children’s Director equips and encourages parents as they disciple their children at home.
● Provides resources, communication, and tools that help families grow spiritually together.
● Offers guidance for key milestones and everyday discipleship rhythms.
● Communicates clearly with parents about teaching content, events, and expectations.
● Builds relationships with families to support them in their spiritual journey.

Leader Development
The Children’s Director recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who serve in children’s ministry.
● Builds a strong team culture centered on safety, discipleship, and care for each child.
● Provides ongoing training, encouragement, and accountability for volunteers.
● Ensures serving roles are clear, supported, and aligned with ministry goals.
● Helps leaders grow in their gifts as they shepherd the next generation.
