Registered PET/CT Technologist (Float)

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Imaging, the PET/CT Technologist is responsible for operating a hybrid PET/CT scanner to perform diagnostic CT exams as well as PET/CT imaging according to physician orders and radiologist guidelines. The role requires adherence to NRC and state licensing regulations, proper handling of radioactive isotopes, and delivery of high‑quality patient care. Essential Functions Comprehensive knowledge of CT cross‑sectional anatomy, positioning, radiographic techniques, and radiation protection concepts. Ensures proper administration of oral and intravenous contrast material when appropriate. Measures, administers, and records isotope dosage following established departmental procedures. Follows radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive isotopes in accordance with departmental procedures. Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns. Orient and mentor new staff members. Demonstrates outstanding customer service and displays appropriate behavior. Performs all duties in accordance with Tennessee Oncology Policies and Procedures Manual and supplemental procedures for Imaging Centers. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong customer‑service skills, including effective listening. Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited or registered school of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine. ARRT certification in Computerized Tomography preferred. NMTCB or ARRT certification in PET or Nuclear Medicine required. Minimum one year of CT experience required (may be waived with Director of Imaging approval). Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent years of experience in Nuclear Medicine and/or PET with NMTCB or equivalent certification preferred but not required. Current certification in Basic Life Support required. Physical Requirements Willing and able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment assisted up to 50 lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr Astera Cancer Care
