Occupational TherapistPosition Location: Haisley ElementarySalary: Teacher's Salary ScheduleReporting Relationship: Building AdministratorQualifications Requirements:Education and/or Experience:Valid Michigan Occupational Therapy certificateExperience in providing occupational therapy services in a public school settingExperience working with students with autism and physical health impairmentsExperience with assistive technology process and interventionProof of COVID vaccination requiredEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide direct services in the classroom and pull-outProvide evaluative services as a member of a multi-disciplinary teamProvide training for teachers, teacher assistants, and other staff membersProvide services to several school sitesData collection and progress monitoringAttend and participate in team meetingsRegular and reliable attendanceOther duties as assigned by AdministratorLanguage Skills:Read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsWrite reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsEffectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publicMathematical Skills:Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsReasoning Ability:Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsInterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formOther Skills and Abilities:Apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assignedUse appropriate language and accompanying techniques with adolescents on one to one bases as well as in groupsEstablish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communicationPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally sit, walk or standThe employee will occasionally reach forward or above the head more than the average personAbility to visit various buildings in the districtThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move and push up to 90 pounds such as students and students in wheelchairsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perceptionWork Environment:The noise level in the work environment is usually moderateThe employee is frequently exposed to infection at a greater risk than the average personThe employee is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of studentsMethod of Application:All applicants must complete the online application at A2Schools.org --> District Links --> Job Postings.
