Adjunct Instructor, EMS (Continuing Education Division)

Position Summary Assist with teaching in the Continuing Education EMS program. Courses may include the EMT Basic and Intermediate classes, Medical Responder class, and a number of other trauma and/or medical continuing education classes. Duties Duties will include the set up and breakdown of classrooms, proper use of equipment, current knowledge of EMS standards, and managing college paperwork and schedules. Classes may be located on campus or out in the community. Special Instructions This is a continuous recruitment to create an applicant pool; openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as‑needed basis only when hiring managers need to fill a position or staff a class. Continuous postings will remain open for 12 months. Diplomas are not accepted in lieu of an unofficial transcript. If selected for hire, official sealed transcripts from an accredited institution or an approved evaluation must be received at least two business weeks before the first day of work; failure to comply may result in revocation of the offer. Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of EMS field experience, medical acute settings experience, or mental health counseling in a public health facility. Currently certified in at least one of the following: NCOEMS EMT or above, MD, RN, Respiratory Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. A willingness to obtain the NCOEMS Level I or II Instructor Certification (does not apply to specialty fields). Comfortable working in a college‑level environment with a wide range of individuals. Preferred Qualifications Level 1 or 2 NC EMS Instructor. Experience as an instructor through EMS, AHA, or ARC. Associate’s degree or higher.
