Water/Wastewater Engineer I: Design, Projects & Impact

Our Water/Wastewater team in Richmond is looking for an Engineer I to join our team. In this role you will perform design and project delivery for water/wastewater projects, including water distribution systems and sewage collection systems. This is an opportunity to work with a team of experienced project managers in a truly collaborative environment to support our municipal clients. Essential Functions: Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water and wastewater pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater systems Assist with the preparation and review of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents Assist with project management activities for select tasks and develop project management skills for expanded responsibilities Support field testing and investigations when required Support construction projects with office engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders) when required Communicate effectively and coordinate with the project team including other disciplines, such as cost estimators, structural engineers, CAD designers, and others Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field Zero to two years of experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water and wastewater facilities and conveyance infrastructure (pipelines, force mains, and pump stations) A self-starter, versatile, and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting our Water and Wastewater Group Excellent technical writing and communication skills required Preferred Skills and Experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint Excellent organizational and presentation skills Working knowledge of AutoCAD Other Duties Please note, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
