Psych Registered Nurse Peds

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Psych Registered Nurse Peds to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide specialized, evidence-based nursing care to children and adolescents with behavioral health and psychiatric needs in an acute care setting. Working as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, you will conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and closely monitor patients’ physical and emotional status. You will collaborate daily with psychiatrists, pediatricians, therapists, social workers, and families to support safe, therapeutic treatment and discharge planning. Responsibilities include maintaining a trauma-informed, child- and family-centered environment, utilizing de-escalation techniques, ensuring patient and staff safety, documenting care accurately in the electronic health record, and educating patients and caregivers about diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies.
