This role focuses on end‑to‑end system design, standardization, and performance optimization for cellular technologies, with increasing emphasis on AI/ML‑driven wireless innovation. The candidate will contribute to the research, design, and development of advanced wireless features across the PHY, MAC, and network layers, including system modeling, algorithm design, and standardization contributions within 3GPP.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 1+ year of Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.ORPhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesWireless Systems Design & DevelopmentResearch, design, and develop advanced wireless communication systems for 6GDesign and optimize PHY/MAC layer algorithms, system architectures, and protocolsPerform system-level modeling, simulations, and performance evaluationsDevelop and apply AI/ML algorithms for wireless communication systems, includingStandardization & Technology InnovationContribute to 3GPP standardization efforts (RAN1, RAN2, RAN4)Develop technical proposals, simulation studies, and supporting documentationAnalyze standards specifications and translate them into system designsCollaborate across teams to drive innovations from concept to commercializationRequired SkillsStrong background in wireless communications and signal processingDeep understanding of cellular systems (LTE, NR) and 3GPP standardsExperience with system-level design, simulation, and performance analysisProficiency in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or equivalent toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong understanding of machine learning fundamentalsExperience applying AI/ML to wireless communications or networking problemsPreferred QualificationsPh.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science)Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
