Purpose and Impact Amentum is searching for a Top‑Secret cleared ISSO to join our team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on accelerating operations through data and new analytical insights, providing enhanced reporting, global searching capabilities, and protecting confidential information. Essential Responsibilities Serve as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner (SO), Business Process Owner, and the CISO/ISSM on all security matters. Ensure the implementation and maintenance of security controls for the information system. Direct and implement necessary controls and procedures to protect information system assets from modification, disclosure, or destruction. Provide guidance for physical protection of information system assets. Prepare and update Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation, including the System Security Plan and Incident Response Plan. Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) from vulnerability data and enter them into the system of record. Conduct network self‑inspections and evaluate system security posture. Assist with reviewing, developing, and navigating the ATO accreditation/certification documentation process. Lead major technology assignments and evaluate performance results. May supervise or mentor other staff as required. Minimum Requirements 7 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer or equivalent role. In‑depth knowledge of information security principles, methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA). Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), ICD 503, NIST SP 800‑53 or DCID 6/3. Proficiency with security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability management). Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Experience with incident response procedures. Demonstrated experience as an individual consultant or team lead. Understanding of the ATO process. Active Top‑Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Required Education and Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification (or equivalent). Preferred Qualifications Experience with Splunk, JIRA, Confluence, Nessus. Advanced Excel proficiency. Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure Cloud. Experience implementing, reviewing, and recommending on Cloud Security configurations. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux. AWS Associate Level or higher certification. Compensation Details US: $150,000 – $160,000 (range is a good‑faith estimate and may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable agreements and relevant laws).
