Recreation Therapist

Location Woodridge Interventions, 2221 64th St., Woodridge, IL 60517 Salary $23.00 - $24.00 per hour Job Type Full‑time Job Summary Responsible to conduct recreation therapy activities at the treatment site. Schedule operations of art sessions, sports, team building activities, leisure education, milieu observation, and physical fitness programming. Assist coordination of all volunteer‑based recreational activities. Participate in all clinical staff and departmental meetings relevant to recreational therapy services. Duties and Responsibilities Assist and co‑lead recreational activities including art sessions, team sports, leisure education, team building, and physical fitness. Attend staffing, treatment team, and management team meetings. Co‑coordinate volunteer‑based recreational activities. Identify potential conflicts in client interaction and recommend crisis intervention. Monitor client behavior in the milieu to promote safety and enhance personal growth. Document client participation with clinically appropriate methods. Monitor and evaluate physical fitness programming to facilitate physical health. Develop and maintain professional boundaries with staff and other professionals. Adhere to confidentiality requirements. Attend mandatory services. Know procedures for incidents and emergencies, and risk minimization/reporting. Licenses/Designations/Certifications Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Therapy. Certification as a Recreation Therapy Specialist. One year of professional work experience. At least 21 years of age. Other Hiring Requirements Valid driver’s license. Pass physical exam including TB and drug testing. Background check including State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse checks. Successful completion of all pre‑employment checks.
