Traveling Cable Technician – Abilene, TX Project

This is a project-based opportunity for dependable technicians who are comfortable working away from home and meeting site requirements. 

We are hiring Bilingual Telecom Data Center Installation Technicians for a major data center project in Abilene, Texas. This position requires travel and is ideal for technicians with experience in telecom, fiber optics, structured cabling, and data center installations.

Technicians will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining network infrastructure while working in a fast-paced, safety-focused data center environment.

NOW HIRING: Bilingual Telecom Data Center Installation Technician
Pay: $24/hour + $100 Per Diem Daily
Location: Abilene, TX (Travel Required)

Housing provided

60-80 Hours weekly
Job Type: Full-Time |Data Center Project

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, route, and organize fiber optic and copper cabling inside data centers
• Perform cable pulls, termination, labeling, and cable management through trays and racks
• Install telecom equipment, patch panels, and network infrastructure components
• Build and maintain structured cabling pathways and cable tray systems
• Perform fiber optic testing and troubleshoot connectivity issues
• Assist with fiber splicing, fiber runs, and network connections
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and installation plans
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed installations
• Follow all safety guidelines and data center security procedures
• Collaborate with project teams to complete installations on schedule

Requirements:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Must be willing to travel and work in Abilene, TX
• Previous telecom, low voltage, structured cabling, or data center experience preferred
• Fiber optic installation experience is a plus
• Ability to use hand tools and cable testing equipment
• Strong attention to detail with cable organization and installation standards
• Ability to work in a team environment and meet project deadlines

Preferred Experience:

• Data center buildouts
• Fiber optic cabling and testing
• Rack and stack installations
• Ethernet/copper cabling
• Cable tray and pathway installation
