Must be at least 18 years of age. Sierra-at-Tahoe is an at‑will employer. This position requires a post‑offer background check. Summary Join an energetic, dynamic food and beverage team that is passionate about providing delicious and diverse cuisine in a fun, fast‑paced resort environment. Accurately handle transactions at the cash register, provide change and maintain a balanced drawer, and deliver exceptional customer service to guests and employees to ensure a quality and kind resort experience. Responsibilities Greet and assist guests as they approach the register in a kind and polite manner. Count and verify drawer contents before opening your station. Keep money neat and orderly throughout each shift. Track all voids and over‑rings to provide detail for potential end‑of‑day discrepancies. Ring in proper payment for each transaction using various payment methods (cash, credit/debit card, My Sierra Rewards balances, Apple Pay, etc.). Ensure accurate payment is made for every item in each transaction. Maintain orderly operations and ensure sufficient cash in drawer for precise change. Maintain cleanliness of workstation and surrounding area. Assist with closing procedures. Maintain a friendly team spirit focused on customer service. Stock fruit bins, candy baskets, and chip stands when able. Contribute to team effort by participating in job sharing, attending safety meetings, accepting diverse assignments, and maintaining a positive attitude in all interactions. Meet service level objectives and department goals as set by the immediate supervisor. Adapt to flexible working hours. Safety Responsibilities Protect the safety of self, co‑workers, and resort guests at all times. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay. Report safety‑related accidents and incidents promptly to the immediate supervisor. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Mathematical Skills Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions written, orally, or diagrammatically; solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations CA Food Handlers certificate required; Resort certification on any necessary equipment. Employees in positions requiring skiing or snowboarding must pass an on‑site ski or ride exam before working on‑mountain (specific to on‑mountain restaurants only). Physical Demands Regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, talking, hearing. Frequent use of hands and arms; occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, crouching, stooping, balancing. Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds. Work Environment Exposed to guest/employee interaction, moving mechanical parts, high altitude, changing indoor conditions (close‑quarters, wet, humid/steamy, slick, illuminated, hot/sharp/loud surfaces and/or equipment).
