Medical Technologist

Description

Medical technologists will primarily be responsible for flow cytometry and
immunohistochemistry.
Hematology functions including peripheral smear preparation and staining, bone marrow
aspirate smear staining and performing bone marrow differential counts.
Fluorescence in-situ hybridization; breast profiles and others as determined by the Medical
Director.
Routine and preventative maintenance of flow cytometer and immunohistochemistry
instruments.
Management and order Of flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry reagents.
Ensure all company safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met.
Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
Assume Other responsibilities as directed by the Medical Director.

Requirements

Previous laboratory experience.
Preferred: One year experience in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science. or medical
technology from an accredited institution; or
Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory
technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the
requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification:
ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required,
Institutional Training Required:
HIPAA, Compliance, Safety, and Departmental Training.
