W2 -Senior IT Engineer Azure Healthcare

Description Our client is seeking an experienced IT Engineer to support, improve, and modernize its enterprise technology environment. This position will serve as an experienced technical contributor within the broader IT Operations organization and work across infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, enterprise systems, applications, endpoints, automation, and technical support. Healthcare experience preferred not required. The expert IT Engineer will partner with IT Operations, security, engineering, application owners, vendors, and business stakeholders to design solutions, resolve complex issues, improve reliability, and increase operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings broad technical experience, strong troubleshooting instincts, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to learn emerging technologies. Key Responsibilities Include Design, implement, operate, maintain, and improve enterprise technology systems and infrastructure. Support cloud and hybrid environments, including Microsoft Azure, M365, identity services, enterprise applications, networking, endpoints, and integrated platforms. Troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, operating systems, virtualization, networking, applications, endpoints, identity, and cloud services. Lead root-cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions for recurring problems. Automate operational and administrative tasks using PowerShell, Python, or comparable scripting and orchestration tools. Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements related to reliability, scalability, security, performance, and cost. Support technical implementations, migrations, upgrades, integrations, testing, rollout, and post-deployment stabilization. Partner with security teams to support access controls, vulnerability remediation, audit readiness, and secure operational practices. Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, support procedures, configuration standards, and knowledge-base content. Support monitoring, incident response, problem management, change management, and continuous improvement. Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and deliver infrastructure and application initiatives. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers and support resources. Evaluate new technologies and develop expertise in platforms needed by the broader IT Operations organization. Client is prioritizing broad engineering fundamentals, troubleshooting ability, adaptability, communication, technical ownership, and learning agility. Candidates do not need to have worked with every platform if they demonstrate the ability to understand complex environments and develop new technical skills. Experience supporting enterprise systems within a distributed or remote organization. Experience automating technical and administrative processes through PowerShell, Python, or similar tools. Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Understanding of security controls, access management, vulnerability remediation, change management, and operational risk. Experience supporting technical migrations, implementations, upgrades, and integrations. Strong documentation skills and experience creating operating procedures, technical standards, and knowledge content. Ability to mentor technical team members and contribute to engineering standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors. Healthcare‑industry experience is helpful but not required. Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $74.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
