Job Opportunity: Vice Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Our organization is excited to announce an opening for a Vice Chair within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as we enhance Women's Health services throughout our health system. This position is based in Staten Island, New York.

Established in 1861, our Staten Island facility is a 714-bed specialized teaching hospital situated in one of New York City's most rapidly developing boroughs. With two expansive campuses and several community health centers and laboratories, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality care to residents of Staten Island, the greater New York metropolitan area, and patients from around the globe.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care across Labor and Delivery, Mother-Baby units, Emergency Department, inpatient consultations, and surgical settings, including both high-risk and routine obstetric and gynecological cases.
• Serve as a member and leader of the OB Rapid Response Team.
• Act as the Safety Officer to ensure adherence to departmental evidence-based protocols and maintain quality metrics.
• Collaborate effectively with residents, Advanced Care Practitioners, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Educational Responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation and implementation of the obstetrics and gynecology curriculum for graduate medical education.
• Supervise and mentor residents and medical students during their clinical rotations.
• Engage in Quality Improvement and Safety Initiatives, including simulations.
• Participate in departmental, academic, and hospital committees.
