About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (11:00 - 23:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years in trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience required. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Must-Have: - Trauma experience - Neuro experience - Vascular experience - Ortho experience - Travel experience Description: Applicants need to have trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience due to trauma status. May need to cover one night shift within their contract as needed. Ratios: 10 RNs to 6 Surgical Technicians during the day shift. Call will be distributed equally among all nursing staff every six weeks. This could include 6-8 shifts in a six-week period, covering nights, evenings, and weekends. Candidates will float within the facility or to nearby affiliate facilities. Previous charge experience is preferred. Two references covering one year required within the last three years. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Candidates must be willing to work on weekends. Candidates must be willing to work two out of three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. Completion of specific modules prior to start is required. Successful candidates will work with a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The typical daily census is approximately 25 cases. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. Special procedures include orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, and general surgery.
