Controls Installation Technician

Overview Join Trane Technologies as an HVAC/Controls Field Technician. Work on customer sites installing and servicing building automation and climate control systems while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Install building automation and temperature control systems, including conduit, enclosures, wiring, and end devices, based on control drawings, plans, and specifications. Prepare for on-site installation by inspecting building layouts, identifying potential difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating with other trades. Maintain inventory, company equipment, and documentation of all related activities. Complete daily paperwork: time, progress, and duration reports, and submit all required reports promptly. Serve as the primary customer contact, providing service and maintenance of product installations at the site. Diagnose and repair equipment, including direct digital control systems, and keep up-to-date with new Trane products and installation techniques. Inspect, document, and maintain vehicle condition and service records, and maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Adhere to safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets. Travel regularly and accommodate occasional overnight stays; work overtime or on weekends as needed by business requirements. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; 2–5 years of HVAC or controls experience preferred. Technical school or formal training in HVAC, controls, or related fields preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone, iPad). Knowledge of low‑voltage electrical systems, electronics (board‑level troubleshooting), direct digital controls, and building control techniques. Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with a clean driving record (no major violations). Experience with DDC control systems is an advantage; participation in an electrical apprenticeship program is desired. Compensation Hourly Pay: $26.64 – $35.90 per hour.
