We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Direct Support Professional Lead to provide hands-on support and leadership within our residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position combines direct care with additional leadership responsibilities. You’ll support individuals with daily living needs while also mentoring Direct Support Professionals, providing on-site training, assisting with regulatory compliance, and helping ensure each home maintains a safe, therapeutic, and person-centered environment. Meaningful Work That Matters Make a Difference Every Day Promote Independence and Quality of Life Mentor and Support Direct Care Staff Advocate for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities Build Meaningful Relationships Help Maintain Safe, Supportive Residential Environments What You’ll Do As a Direct Support Professional Lead , you will: Provide on-site behavioral health and direct care services to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting Assist with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, and medical appointments Provide supervision and guidance that helps individuals develop skills, build independence, and maximize their quality of life Mentor Direct Support Professionals and provide on-site training and guidance to support staff Work with the Residential Manager to address policy, regulatory, training, and compliance concerns Maintain regular communication with the Residential Manager and other members of the support team Ensure required daily documentation is completed accurately and according to organizational standards Review documentation, including medication administration records, ISPs, T-Logs, daily checklists, and other required records Assist with ensuring appropriate staffing levels and staff‑to‑individual ratios Coordinate and follow up on medical appointments, prescriptions, pharmacy needs, and related documentation Monitor and respond appropriately to crisis situations while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment Advocate for individuals and serve as a liaison to community resources Provide trauma-informed and person-centered care Help ensure services comply with applicable safety standards, regulations, organizational policies, and ethical standards Who We’re Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: Compassionate Dependable Patient A Strong Mentor Organized Professional Comfortable Taking Initiative Committed to Helping Others This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DSP who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities while remaining directly involved in supporting individuals. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, or behavioral health challenges Valid driver’s license and required driving record CPR and First Aid certification Ability to successfully complete required organizational, regulatory, and program training Ability to pass required background check and drug screening Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong judgment, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, electronic documentation, and time-recording applications Preferred Prior Direct Support Professional experience in an IDD residential setting Experience mentoring, training, or providing guidance to Direct Support Professionals Knowledge of trauma-informed care Experience with residential documentation, medication records, ISPs, and regulatory compliance Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Schedule Full-Time Schedule flexibility required based on residential program needs Evening and weekend availability may be required Schedule and work location may change based on business and individual needs Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, twist, and climb stairs as required Ability to lift 50 pounds or more as required by the position Ability to drive and provide transportation as needed Ability to assist and supervise individuals safely within residential and community environments Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Apply Today Some jobs pay the bills.
