Relief CBHC ESP Nurse, Greenfield

CSO is looking for Relief Nurses to work in our CBHC (Community Behavioral Health Clinic) Emergency Services Program (ESP) in Greenfield. Our Emergency ServicePrograms (ESPs) offer clients behavioral health assessments, intervention andstabilization (for youth, families and adults,) 24-hour availability, and are apreferred alternative to hospital emergency departments. We provide dailyassessment and brief counseling, case management, nursing support and peersupport. This position will beresponsible for the care and treatment of clients as well as specific tasksnecessary to the operation of the program. Starting Pay: $28-35/hour As a CBHC ESP Nurse: You Will: Perform medical screening of CBHC/Respite clientadmissions Coordinate medication and health care clearances priorto admission when possible, by taking information from hospital/communityhealthcare providers Review medications upon program admission, confirmsprescriptions and dosages, set-up medication charting, administer,document and monitor medications of clients per program policy Package medications for clients to self-administer whenNurse is not on duty Complete health assessments of clients Monitor clients' physical status as needed, includingblood pressure, pulse, temperature, and blood sugar for signs ofmedication side effects Comply with DPH regulations for storage of medications(in locked drawer) Provide health education for clients as part oftreatment team when appropriate. Monitor Respite clients, including hourly bed checksand documentation, and provide closer observation as needed Provide supportive counseling and safety for clientsutilizing the program Assist clients with activities of daily living,including self-care, cooking, recreation, and medication responsibilities Arrange for clients to participate in designatedcommunity programs or return to their jobs. Schedule aftercarefollow-up appointments for medication monitoring and/or review Function as an active member of the Program TreatmentTeam, on a day-to-day basis, in the therapeutic setting including Share observations, interactions, and knowledge todevelop 24-hour care plans, maintaining knowledge of client's treatmentplan Communicate regularly with family members, significantothers, and involved providers in an effort to coordinate care Answer and direct crisis telephone calls according toestablished procedures Your Background: LPN or RN license One year of experience working with a psychiatricpopulation (preferred) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Bilingual candidates arestrongly encouraged to apply.
