SOCIAL WORKER

Social Worker Position within the Social Services Department at the Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria, Loleta, CA. The role provides community‑based support services to Tribal members using strength‑based, person‑centered, culturally and trauma‑informed practices. Tribal Preference will be given in accordance with the BRBRR Act Relating to Employment. Position Summary The Social Worker delivers crisis stabilization and direct community‑based services including case management, educational advocacy, preventive services, facilitation of groups and community activities, and maintains case records and progress notes. Responsibilities Support Tribal members in accessing services and problem‑solving for medical, mental health, educational, spiritual, social, and concrete needs. Collaborate across systems of care to address complex needs of Tribal members struggling with trauma, loss, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Respond to crisis situations. Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers. Develop and facilitate groups, trainings, activities, and programming for the community. Empower Tribal members and, when necessary, advocate on their behalf. Maintain professional behavior at all times. Attend all required trainings. Complete all required paperwork and progress notes in a timely manner. Qualifications Experience with Tribal families, at‑risk youth, elders, substance abuse, and domestic violence preferred. Knowledge of issues related to suicide and trauma. Demonstrated emotional stability, adaptability, patience, self‑control, and tact. Good communication skills, professional appearance, and sound judgment in moral, ethical, cultural, and spiritual matters. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously. Education & Experience Must be 18 years of age. High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five (5) years of progressive related work experience. Certifications Valid driver’s license and insurable by agency insurance. CPR & First Aid certification within three (3) months of hire. Mandated Reporter Training certification within three (3) months of hire. Computer Skills Proficient computer skills including email, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, and spreadsheets. Other Key Requirements Ability to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and report unsafe activities.
