Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking dedicated OR RNs (Registered Nurses) to provide high-quality perioperative nursing care at partner hospitals and surgical centers in Cleveland, OH. As an OR RN working through a respected healthcare and medical services staffing agency, you will play a vital role in supporting surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient procedures and excellent patient outcomes. You will work within a culture of care and dedication that prioritizes quality placements, professional support, and strong relationships with both clients and clinicians. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care throughout the surgical experience, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-anesthesia recovery phases, depending on assignment. Typical responsibilities include conducting thorough pre-op assessments, reviewing patient histories and consent forms, verifying allergies and medications, and preparing patients and operating rooms for surgery according to established protocols and infection control standards. During procedures, you will function as a circulating nurse and, when applicable, scrub nurse, managing sterile fields, assisting with instrumentation, monitoring patient status, and documenting all aspects of care in the electronic medical record. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team to anticipate needs, maintain a safe environment, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition. Duties may include administering medications as ordered, managing IV lines, monitoring vital signs and hemodynamic status, maintaining accurate counts of sponges and instruments, implementing infection prevention practices, and adhering strictly to surgical safety checklists and facility policies. Post-operatively, you may assist in PACU or recovery care, providing patient and family education, pain management, and discharge instructions as assigned. Assignments are typically in acute care hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers within the Cleveland, OH area and may vary in length and schedule depending on client needs. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and flexibility is important.
