Position InformationHiring Manager:Associate DirectorDepartment:OperationsDepartment OverviewOperations is comprised of two separate departments, each with distinct roles and responsibilities. The Settlement & Funding Team is responsible for the pre-closing process which includes deal and fee structure, trade activity, document management, KYC and settlement coordination. The Portfolio Administration Team is responsible for the booking of deals, daily servicing activity including payment processing, advances and rate resets as well as the maintenance of referential data. The Operations Team plays a pivotal role in the data integrity of the investment portfolios and they collaborate closely with many other areas of the Firm including the Front Office, Treasury, Tax and Fund Accounting.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Settlement Specialist has responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:Handling loan trade settlements across multiple fundsMonitoring / coordinating daily cash flows between trustees and the Treasury TeamCreating and coordinating execution of trade documents (e.g., Assignment Agreements, Funding Memos and Trade Tickets)Understanding trading specifics including delayed compensation, economic benefit and PIKWorking closely with Agents / Counterparties to ensure timely settlementConfirming all required internal approvals have been receivedDistributing settlement documents to all appropriate partiesConfirming cash disbursements have been made accuratelyKnow Your Customer (“KYC”) & Tax:Understanding complex corporate structuresCoordinating requests for tax formsUnderstanding incorporation documentation requirementsAdditional Responsibilities:Bond settlementAssisting with audit requests and special projects as neededUpdating procedures as neededCandidate RequirementsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree requiredExperience with ClearPar and LSTA trade documentation preferredKnowledge of Broadly Syndicated LoansExperience reviewing legal documentation, specifically credit agreementsExperience pulling basic loan parameters from Credit Agreements (e.g., interest rates, amortizations)Advanced proficiency with Microsoft ExcelEnthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work cultureCritical Competencies for SuccessOur Gold Standards define key behaviors and competencies across 4 dimensions: Leadership, Achieving Results, Personal Effectiveness and Thinking Critically. Ensures accuracy in documentation and works with various parties to carry out the process.Portfolio Administration: Manages daily processing related to agented and non-agented deals (e.g., rollovers, advances, credits, wire requests) for a portfolio and ensures cash is reconciled with loan accounting group.Compensation and BenefitsFor Illinois Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $65,000 to $110,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
