Wire EDM Setup Operator

Job Title

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Set up and operate Wire EDM/Vollmer machines (FANUC/Sodick) to produce high-precision components.
2. Cutting carbide and PCD
3. Monitor machine performance, make adjustments as needed, and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous production.
4. Load and unload work pieces, install and align tooling, and perform necessary machine adjustments.
5. Develop and optimize CNC programs for Wire EDM/Vollmer machines (FANUC/Sodick) based on engineering drawings and specifications.
6. Make necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
7. Conduct routine maintenance on Wire EDM/Vollmer machines (FANUC/Sodick) to ensure optimal performance.
8. Identify and report any equipment issues to maintenance staff for timely resolution.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Wire EDM Operator/Programmer in a manufacturing environment (1+ years), specifically with FANUC/Sodick
• Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to follow directions
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
