Responsibilities

– Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures – Prepare specimens for lab testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation – Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment for patients and staff – Accurately record and update patient and specimen data within electronic systems – Communicate procedures effectively and compassionately to patients to foster trust and confidence – Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and patient safety – Perform clerical and data entry tasks related to specimen collection and processing as needed – Follow all safety protocols, including maintaining PPE and adhering to infection control standards

Required Skills

– Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients – Ability to work independently with minimal supervision – Strong organizational skills and attention to detail – Effective communication skills for patient interactions – Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry

Additional Skills & Requirements

– High school diploma or equivalent required – Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington) – Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience required; more than one year preferred – Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus – Must be flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime – Reliable personal transportation to and from the worksite – Must have your own transportation; being dropped off by bus, Uber, or rideshare is not considered reliable – Must be able to work scheduled shifts promptly and stay through entire shifts – Ability to list home city/commute time (within 20-25 minutes) on resume – Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred
