This position is responsible for performing grounds maintenance duties at the Naval Station of Great Lakes, IL. Position Summary Pay: $21.42 / Hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm, Weekends & Overtime (as needed) Must be available for snow removal Veteran's Welcome! Typical Duties Mows, trims, edges and blows/sweeps grass using mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers. May be assigned to plant sod, shrubs, flowers, trees and/or landscape materials like blocks, pavers and rock, including pruning, raking, applying or removing mulch and watering. Expected to safely operate equipment and to help perform minor maintenance such as filling fluids, greasing, cleaning, replacing string or sharpening blades. Contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the supervisor and implementing feedback for improvement. Performs duties with a special focus on safety, quality and customer service. Requirements Must pass criminal background check. Must pass various State and Federal registry checks. Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check. Preferred: pass driving history check and meet Company policy criteria. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be 21 or older to drive. Must be capable of frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting while performing grounds maintenance duties. On-call for snow removal. No company travel using personal insured vehicle required.
