EH&S Manager

Job Summary Develop and administer facility Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate policies. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Amcor EHS Management System and foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and compliance across all levels of the workforce. Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and continual enhancement of the Amcor EHS Management System at the facility. Direct facility EHS planning, including goal setting, prioritization, and establishment of performance review and improvement systems. Assist department managers, supervisors, and employees in implementing creative approaches to improve safety, reduce/eliminate risk, and minimize environmental footprint. Conduct and/or coordinate EHS inspections and assessments to assure compliance with regulatory requirements and company initiatives. Prepare progress reports on EHS goals, metrics, and performance indicators for corporate and facility management. Coordinate resources to ensure full understanding and proper management of legal, code, permit, license, and order requirements affecting the facility. Procure and maintain records, data, and information necessary to prepare required reports, respond to agency requests, and verify compliance. Evaluate new materials and material use for regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and environmental protection. Collaborate with engineering on design and installation of equipment or processes to eliminate or reduce safety hazards and environmental impact. Provide training and information to ensure personnel are aware of corporate and governmental EHS regulations and requirements. Lead the facility in promoting and maintaining a high‑performance EHS culture. Develop, maintain, implement, and annually review EHS policies, procedures, and responsibilities. Perform and/or coordinate monitoring activities to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and company initiatives. Lead the incident investigation process, ensuring timely reporting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action tracking to closure. Plan, develop, deliver, and coordinate effective EHS training for all facility employees, temporary workers, contractors, and visitors. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience. At least 5 years of experience or involvement in EHS. Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) are a plus. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage and execute projects. Ability to work with several departments/employees at all levels on a daily basis. Proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other software programs. Compensation Salary range: $98,000 – $122,500 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan or Sales Incentive Plan, an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance.
