Registered Nurse - Post Cardiac Catheterization Unit

This position requires night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

The Registered Nurse (RN) will coordinate and implement patient care specifically for patients in the post cardiac catheterization and post-surgical phases. This role involves managing patients on high-risk medications including Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, Ketamine, and Lidocaine drips, as well as respiratory patients on NIPPV (BIPAP, AirVo).

Obtain and record initial assessment and establish priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.

Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.

Develop and implement measurable individualized plans of care for patients within established timeframes.

Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes.

Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.

Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.

Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care and perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Current RN license in New Mexico or current Compact state license.

Current BLS certification from AHA is required.

Current ACLS certification from AHA is required.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.

Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to patients' rights in the delivery of care.
