A highly respected regional healthcare system in Spartanburg, South Carolina is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a collaborative Level III NICU team providing advanced neonatal care in a thriving, family-friendly community near the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dates / Schedule\n

• Permanent, full-time position
\n
• Rotating service coverage within a 4-physician neonatology team
\n
• Every-other-night call schedule during service weeks
\n
• Two weeks per month of well-baby rounding responsibilities
\n
• 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) support coverage
\n
• Requires local residency within the Spartanburg area; relocation may be required
\n
• Accepting candidates currently completing Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship training and board-eligible candidates
\n
• Not accepting locum candidates
\n
• Not accepting visa candidates
\n

Job Details / Responsibilities\n

\n
• Lead and provide neonatal care in a 35-bed Level III NICU
\n
• Manage a high-acuity neonatal population with:\n
  \n
  • Average daily census of 25–29 infants
  \n
  • Approximately 370–400 NICU admissions annually
  \n
  • Approximately 3,400–3,900 deliveries per year
  \n
\n
• Deliver advanced neonatal interventions including:\n
  \n
  • High-frequency ventilation
  \n
  • Therapeutic hypothermia
  \n
\n
• Participate in well-baby rounding alongside the Family Medicine Residency Program
\n
• Collaborate with:\n
  \n
  • 4 Neonatologists
  \n
  • 24/7 NNP coverage
  \n
  • Pediatric subspecialists including Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  \n
\n
• Provide family-centered neonatal care in a collaborative healthcare environment
\n
• Support academic and clinical leadership initiatives within the NICU
\n
• Work within a regional referral center offering strong multidisciplinary resources
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications\n

\n
• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
\n
• South Carolina medical license or willingness to obtain strongly preferred
\n
• Completion of Neonatology fellowship training required
\n
• Neonatology experience required; experienced candidates preferred
\n
• Clean malpractice and license history strongly preferred
\n
• DEA required prior to start date
\n
• NPDB Self-Query report within 30 days required at presentation
\n
• Must specify whether visa sponsorship is required (J1/H1B), though visa candidates are not being accepted
