Certified Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care delivery in a medical office environment. Responsibilities include direct patient care, assisting providers with clinical tasks, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting front-office functions as needed. The Medical Assistant performs duties in accordance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and organizational policies.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient care and proceduresObtain and document patient vital signs and medical history in EMR (NextGen)Explain procedures and treatments to patients to promote understanding and comfortAdminister medications and treatments as directed by provider and within certification scopeObserve and document patient conditions, reporting changes to provider promptlyAssist with patient education and discharge instructions as directed by providerSchedule diagnostic tests and procedures ordered by providerAnswer and triage patient calls; address questions regarding tests, results, and medications; respond same dayCommunicate professionally with physician offices, facilities, and vendors; coordinate external schedulingMaintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all timesWork cross-functionally to support clinic operations and maintain workflowTravel to satellite locations as neededPerform other duties as assignedTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
