Position Details:

• Student Caseload: 8 students in grades 6-8
• Self-contained special education classroom
• Full-time assignment, 35 hours per week
• Program: Functional (RISE) – alternative curriculum
• Assignment dates: Now through June 9, 2027

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required)
• Valid Special Education teaching credential for grades 6-8 (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience teaching in a self-contained or alternative curriculum setting strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of IEPs, individualized instruction, and behavioral strategies
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop individualized lesson plans and adapt curriculum to student needs
• Implement behavioral and instructional strategies in a self-contained classroom
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families
• Maintain meticulous records and participate in IEP meetings
• Advocate for student progress and an inclusive, safe learning environment
