About the Role:

The Machinist 2 plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining precision machinery to produce high-quality metal parts and components. This position requires a deep understanding of machining techniques, blueprints, and specifications to ensure that all products meet stringent quality standards. The Machinist 2 will be responsible for setting up machines, selecting appropriate tools, and making necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist or in a related manufacturing role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience operating manual and CNC machine tools.
• Strong knowledge of machining safety protocols and quality control standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or vocational training program in machining.
• Experience with CNC programming and operation.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
• Certification from a recognized machining or manufacturing organization.
• Ability to work with a variety of metals and materials.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain various types of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate metal parts according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements and sequence of operations.
• Measure and inspect finished products using precision instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
• Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to resolve production challenges and implement process improvements.

Skills:
