Shipping Associate

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Team Member – Day Shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM)

Job Description

This role supports the smooth flow of materials and products by accurately picking, packing, and shipping orders, as well as receiving and stocking incoming materials. You will work on a small, collaborative shipping and receiving team in a clean and organized warehouse/manufacturing environment. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic, and the team is willing to train someone with a great attitude and transferable skills.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders accurately to support internal teams and external customers.

• Load and unload trucks using appropriate material-handling equipment while following all safety procedures.

• Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and accuracy, and stock items in designated locations to maintain an efficient workflow.

• Replenish inventory to prevent production interruptions and support operational demand.

• Transport materials throughout the facility to support daily production and shipping needs.

• Work collaboratively with production, logistics, and warehouse teams to meet daily goals and ensure on-time order fulfillment.

• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, improve flow, and maintain an organized workspace.

• Support problem-solving efforts and follow best-known methods to complete work safely and efficiently.

• Adapt to changing business needs by assisting other departments when needed.

• Use basic computer systems and RF scanners (if applicable) to track inventory, shipments, and order status.

• Follow all safety guidelines and contribute to a safe, efficient, and orderly work environment.

Essential Skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse, or material handling roles, or transferable experience such as managing restaurant to-go orders or inventory in restaurant or retail environments.

• Basic computer skills for tasks such as data entry, inventory tracking, and order processing.

• Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

• Flexibility to assist other departments as required.

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and communicate clearly with production, logistics, and warehouse staff.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (nice to have, not required).

• Familiarity with RF scanners and basic warehouse management systems.

• Experience in inventory control, picking, packing, and material handling.

• Background in shipping and receiving or warehouse shipping environments.

• Prior exposure to 5S or continuous improvement practices.

• Experience in fast-paced environments such as restaurants, retail, or other roles requiring multitasking and order accuracy.

Work Environment

You will work full-time on a Monday–Friday day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM in a warehouse/manufacturing setting as part of a small shipping and receiving team. The facility is extremely clean, well spaced out, and highly organized, supporting efficient workflows and a safe working environment. During warmer months, the area can become a bit hot when bay doors are open, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. You will handle materials, operate or work around material-handling equipment, and move throughout the facility to support production and shipping needs. The environment emphasizes safety, orderliness, and collaboration, with a focus on continuous improvement and maintaining a well-structured workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.46 - $21.54/hr.
