Small Vehicle DriverBrush School District RE-2J is seeking a reliable, safety-focused driver to transport students between Brush and Greeley, Colorado. The driver picks students up in the morning, delivers them safely to their destination, and returns them home in the afternoon each weekday. The ideal candidate is punctual, patient with students, and committed to safe driving practices.Schedule: Mon–Fri, split shift (AM & PM) Full-time · School-year calendarRoute Compensation: Brush, CO ? Greeley, CO Per district salary scheduleKey Responsibilities:Safely transport students along assigned routes, arriving on time in all weather and traffic conditions.Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report mechanical or safety issues promptly.Ensure all students are properly seated and secured before driving.Maintain accurate ridership, attendance, and mileage logs.Enforce conduct and safety rules; manage student behavior calmly and appropriately.Follow all traffic laws, district policies, and established routes and schedules.Communicate professionally with school staff, parents/guardians, and the transportation supervisor.Respond appropriately to emergencies, delays, breakdowns, and route changes.Keep the vehicle clean, fueled, and ready for service.Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and district policy.Required Qualifications:Minimum age of 21Valid Colorado driver's license.Clean driving record / acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).Ability to pass a criminal background check, including CBI and FBI fingerprint-based screening.Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.Ability to read maps/GPS and follow assigned routes reliably.Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.Certifications & Clearances:First Aid and CPR certification (District can be provide training)DOT medical examiner's certificate (physical)Complete required district transportation trainingsAny additional training required before carrying students.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience transporting studentsExperience working with children, including students with disabilities or special needs.Familiarity with routes between Brush and Greeley.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.Ability to safely assist students boarding and exiting the vehicle.Vision and hearing meeting state driving standards.What We Offer:Competitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement planLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development opportunitiesBrush School District RE-2J is an Equal Opportunity Employer.527 Industrial Park Road, Brush, CO 80723 · View phone number on click.appcast.io · brushschools.org
