Job Summary
The Material Handler I is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, parts, and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production areas. This role supports manufacturing operations by receiving, storing, picking, issuing, and transporting materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong stand-up forklift experience and is committed to maintaining an organized, efficient, and safe work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate stand-up forklifts to transport materials throughout the warehouse and production areas.
- Operate additional material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, cranes, pallet stackers, and walkie riders as needed.
- Receive, inspect, and store inbound deliveries.
- Pick, stage, and issue materials for production orders.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and carrier vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Move raw materials, components, and finished goods to designated storage and production locations.
- Complete inventory transactions accurately and timely within company systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control activities.
- Inspect completed parts for compliance with established quality standards and report or correct issues as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse operating guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a material handler, warehouse associate, forklift operator, or in a related warehouse environment.
- Stand-up forklift experience is required.
- Experience operating material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, pallet stackers, and related equipment preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Ability to accurately complete inventory and material transactions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
